Another AANR Resort Hosts Erotic Fetish Events

In the wake of the recent controversy at Lupin Lodge, the American Association for Nude Recreation has another affiliated club openly marketing to swingers and erotic lifestyles groups.

Caliente Caribe in the Dominican Republic is openly advertising “Naughty Kinky Dominican Domination Group Trip” from March 26 through April 2, 2011, “March Madness Erotica Group Week” for the same time period, “Caliente Spring Swing Erotic Resort Takeover” for April 16 through 23, 2011, “Fetish Fest 2 Paradise Bound Resort Takeover” for June 18-25, 2011, and several other sexually charged events.

Caliente Caribe is listed as an AANR club on the organization’s website.. The Nudist group bills itself as “the credible voice of reason for nude recreation since 1931” and  promises a non-sexual environment whenever a member visits an affiliated club.

Plan to Go Nude! Although some clubs allow visitors to remain clothed while touring the club as a first timer, most clubs expect guests to be “clothed when practical, nude when appropriate.” Visitors, as well as members, are required to conduct themselves in a manner that would be considered acceptable at any other public social gathering. There will be people of all ages and backgrounds – families, couples, children, young and old – and they will all have one thing in common…they decided to participate in nude recreation.
As a first timer, please make this important observation, even though you might anticipate it, a nude environment does not have any special sexual connotation.
On a page entitled “Why Your Membership Matters“, AANR boasts of its efforts to “advocate for nude recreation with regular visits to the U.S. Congress and state legislatures to educate lawmakers and staff about nudist concerns”, and it works to “protect traditional skinny-dipping spots and nude beaches.”

AANR requires its affiliated clubs to adhere to its principles and standards.

The atmosphere of an AANR club is wholesome and friendly. People who enjoy nude recreation distinguish between nudity and sex and keep the two in their proper perspectives. Clubs are careful about who enters their facility and if anyone seems to be there for the wrong reason, they will be asked to leave.
In recent years several affiliated clubs have surrendered their charters so that they could openly market to swingers and other erotic lifestyle groups, which fall outside the traditional definitions of nudism and naturism. Since last May, the California club Lupin Lodge, which has been in existence since 1936, has been involved with a controversy over BDSM groups using its facilities for meetings and “play areas”. As of this writing, neither AANR nor The Naturist Society have made any official statements on the status of Lupin as one of their affiliated clubs.

Sunsport Gardens Exposes Naked Truth About Nudism

The Sunsport Gardens Family Naturist Resort is tucked away from prying eyes.

To get there, you have to drive down several dirt roads in the already remote western Palm Beach county town of Loxahatchee. Inside the gate, families and visitors are welcome to be free as jaybirds.

The resort boasts 40 acres of naked freedom and includes amenities like a pool, hot tub, and sand volleyball pits.

Don’t be fooled by the drum circle pit — this isn’t a Girl Scout camp. There are 50 permanent residents at Sunsport, including ten children.

But why would families want to live in a place where their children will see grown-up genitalia all day?

“Because they grow up without body hangups,” said Morley Schloss, majority shareholder of the resort. “They grow up seeing varieties of body types.”

Schloss has been living the nudist lifestyle since he brought his wife and kids to Woodstock in 1969. Because of the dust, everyone was forced to bathe together in the lake at the concert-grounds. He said that experience changed his life.

Since then, Schloss has been an outstanding figure in the national nudist community.

Before he moved to Sunsport permanently, Schloss was a school administrator in Rochester, New York. During his time at the school he helped institute “top-free swims” for the elementary students.

Yes, his students were aware of his love for nudism. His state-level activism made the news during the period of time that New York state was instituting a “top-free” law. Schloss was influential in passing that law, which dictates that women can have their tops off anywhere men can.

Now he and his second wife, Anne Fischer, live year-round at the resort in a trailer they say “doesn’t have much room for clothes.”

The youth director, a woman named Sandy, lives a few trailers down from the couple along with her 14-year-old son Bud and grandson, 2-year-old Xavier.

It was there that we met Leslie, a nine-year-old nudist who lives at Sunsport with her parents, older brother Nathan, a large rabbit, a boxer dog, and two hermit crabs. When we first met her she was clothed and baking gingerbread cookies with Bud, Xavier, and Nathan.

But eventually Schloss brought me over to Leslie’s home to meet the rest of her family. There she was nude and gleefully playing with her pet rabbit.

Her father was nude but her mother was clothed. Grey Vanaman has faced some serious opposition since bringing his family from New Jersey to South Florida. Although he didn’t want to go into much detail, he did say his extended family staged an intervention recently.

“There’s nothing wrong about being a nudist,” he explained. “In fact, there’s everything right about it.”

While the Florida Department of Children and Families didn’t disagree or agree about children growing up in nudist communities, spokeswoman Terri Durdaller said “there are currently no rules or regulations about the situation.”

Despite the obvious difference between nudists and not, Schloss, Fischer, and Vanaman have found that they aren’t judged by the clothed members of society. They will frequently talk to grocery store clerks about the advantages of nudism. When flying, Fischer has talked nudism with TSA agents, whom she said are very interested.

Currently Schloss is one of nine people in North America to be elected to a position within the Naturist Action Committee. Through the committee he’s working to protect the current nude beaches in Florida, create more, and reestablish formerly nude beaches, like the beach at John D. Macarthur state park.

Nudist Mud Baths

Who Said Nudism Doesn’t Get Dirty…

Nudist fun isn’t all about beaches and destination resorts where winsome creatures gambol in the nude. If you thought so, you obviously didn’t know about the spiritually and physically nutritive benefits of dipping your birthday suit into mixtures of spring water and volcanic ash with a little peat moss added for buoyancy.

Whether procured naturally or in a spa setting, there’s nothing like a warm mud treatment to sooth what ails you. When done communally, there’s a natural tendency to not only laugh and have great fun but to help each other out with the caking and rinsing, or just plain frolicking. And creating haphazard but gentle collisions in a mud pit certainly breaks the ice among strangers. And don’t forget the healing powers. There’s a vast tradition and scripture related to these “purification” rites. In other words, it’s a legitimate and proactive way to maintain optimal health.

For us it’s just another good way to enjoy the precepts of “body freedom” using nature’s natural abundance. It’s extraordinarily fun in an intimate sort of way as only an all-encompassing mud bath could do.

Nudists Are Sex Addicts, Not

It’s Not About Sex, But Is Sexy

If the typical Internet “nudist site” depicted actual nudists, one would assume they’re a pretty debauched bunch of folks, forever fornicating or fondling in public places. The truth is, and please stifle the yawn, nudists are a rather placid species who simply don’t mind being naked when there’s company around. In fact, they enjoy company, but for normal recreation, not sport-fornicating.

Last week I was sitting around the pool at a nudist/topless friendly French resort in the Caribbean. Low-season brings out the budget minded (like us), meaning couples with kids, college students and Lonely Planet globe-trekkers seeking bargains. It was a no flash, just fun in the sun, a few evening drinks, ho-hum see you in the morning kind of place. So poolside when things get heated it means high noon has arrived.

Now it’s true, most were either naked or topless but rather than having sex they were tuned into their iPods, reading, sunworshipping or simply conversing. The topics I chanced to overhear ran from mortgages to marriage, kids to kitchen makeovers, beauty regimens to baseball. No one was moaning or groaning–in other words, there were no apparent orgasms going on. They looked and sounded like people you’d meet at the nineteenth hole of your club, sipping cocktails, except these folks were beginning to burn around their exposed nipples and buttocks.

As purported by this magazine, it’s also true that nudists have better sex lives than most, the physcology of which fills these blogs. Men get excited seeing their wives naked in front of other men, women get excited when their men find them exciting and buy them jewelry. It’s a circle of life thing. But still, it’s mostly private, done behind closed doors.

Except when it’s not. There’s also nothing like a good romp with a loved one in the bosom of nature, out in the woods, behind the barn, what have you. Sure, that’s exciting, but not necessarily nudist, is it? But if you’re a nudist on a sparsely populated beach and venture off to the dunes to address a compulsive moment with your mate, you’re just normal with less clothing in the way.

Coed Nudist Spas in Germany

In Germany Nudists Move Indoors For Winter

nudists germany

To the uninitiated visiting a community rec center in Germany can be an eye-opening affair. In both large and small towns communal swimming pools and spas are generally clothing optional and, frankly, why would anyone prefer to wear a swimsuit in the sauna or pool? Leave it to the Germans to be practical on these matters.

For a small admission price a great afternoon or evening can be spent in nude company pursuing relaxing and healthful activities is a balm to the winter blues and a good reason to endorse four-season climates.

The Nudist Sun

Summer Nudists Revived

The Evidence Is Clear

One of the pleasures of receiving an abundance of photography from summer nudist vacations is reliving the recent past, even if not our own. The often vicarious armchair adventures (with laptop) reminds us (it’s sub-zero outside my front door) that nudism is a year-round activity, if we’re willing to hop on a plane, something I intend to do about mid-March (Mexican Mayan coast).

In the meantime, I find perusing naturism photography and video soothing. In fact I like to start my day that way, before the emails or even thinking about work. Seeing what’s new in an odd way gives me some focus. What is life about? Why am I proceeding into a new day? Ah, this is it! To enjoy life’s simple bounty of pleasures. Beautiful women and teens, naked of course, great food, good books, movies, wine and company, and of course sensual relations. Nudism photography gives me hope, knowing it represents a life out there that I’m able to join when circumstances align properly.

Also, it gives me a good reason to stay in shape. There is good evidence the rewards are great.

Greece Nudist Beaches

Greece has many islands where you can find a vast number of nudist beaches.

While in practice any secluded beach in Greece can be a nudist beach, there are some beaches that are considered to be more nude-friendly than others.

The island of Agistri has two nudist beaches and they are Halkiada and Skala. If you are on the island of Andros, do not forget to go to the nude-friendly beach of Aghia Anna Beach. This beach is located north of Batsi. It is easy to get to this beach by foot by following the road along the coast. It is a 20-minute walk.

Corfu, the favorite island of visiting holidaymakers, has its own share of Greece nudist beaches. Almiros Beach is one. Although Agios Georgios is not a nude beach, there is a small un-named secluded beach to the left of Agios Georgios where you can bare it all and soak up the sun. Then there are other beaches namely Linia, Arillas and S John Beach at Roda.

Even Crete has its own nudist beaches and you can find them at Aghia Galini, Anidri, Damnini, Frangokastello, Glika, Nera, Ligres, Loutro, Sises, Skafia and Vai. You will find most of these Greece nudist beaches and others based in the southwestern part of Crete all along the remote sections of the coast. If you are looking for a nudist resort, then Crete is the place for you. It is home to the lone official nude resort at Filaki Beach and it is called Hotel Vritomartis.

On the island of Mykonos there are number of nude beaches and these include Panoramous Beach, Agrari Beach, Elia Beach, Paraga Beach and Paradise Beach. Even Santorini has two good Greece nudist beaches namely Oia and Vlychada.

Nudist Boating In The Caribbean

Close Quarters, Good Friends, Abundant Nudity

Everyone knows the privacy dance executed when conditions don’t permit personal, secluded spaces. Boating provides an abundant lack of privacy, for example. So why not go nudist?

This is one of those cases where the “nudism” label is liberally applied. When friends jointly rent a sailboat for a Caribbean cruise, implied is a bit of enhanced intimacy when it comes to changing or sleeping. If you get the dining-table/convertible-berth you know your sleep habits are about to lose their confidentiality, as will your amorous enterprises after a rum-soaked evening on deck.

Regardless of labels, chummy boat-nudity is interesting to experience and capture on digital cameras, as this series illustrates.

Paradise Lakes Resort

Swimming nude is a great reason to try nude recreation.

If you are new to the idea of wholesome nude recreation, the American Association for Nude Recreation provides an FAQ). Whether skinny dipping in a pool or lounging in a hot tub, I have yet to hear a person say they like bathing suits better – no matter what age, size, or color the person is.

The Florida nudist resort trip report continues with a look at swimming naked at Paradise Lakes Nudist Resort. The resort provides a variety of ways to be comfortably naked in the water in a safe and accepting environment.

On Thursday afternoon with perfect weather, sunny and in the 80s, the pool had a scattering of nudists. We enjoyed clothes-free, wet-bathing-suit-free freedom in the main pool area.

Paradise Lakes has a uniquely shaped swimming pool (pictured). It’s more of a lounge pool than a swimming pool. When we returned on a warm Friday afternoon and again on Saturday, the whole pool area was jammed with people.

One part of the pool goes 6 feet deep, allowing for swimming, but most of the pool is 3 to 5 feet deep – nice for standing around, chatting and having a drink. A kind waitress brings beer, mixed drinks or whatever.

The pool meanders from the deep section to the shallow section and then a water volleyball section starts. In addition to the main pool volleyball area, Paradise Lakes has a separate water volleyball pool.

Nude water volleyball is a popular social nudist activity at Paradise Lakes. Games are frequent and can be almost non-stop in both pools on Friday, Saturday and Sunday when the conditions are right (time of year, weather).

To get away from it all, head towards the lake. Next to it, another pool and hot tub area provide a hidden oasis within the oasis of Paradise Lakes.

The residents and guests staying in this section of the resort property use this pool often. It’s convenient and nearby other nude recreation activities. The hot tub was being worked on during my stay, but the pool was nice and had room for swimming the way swimming was meant to be: clothes-free.

Blond Jokes Don’t Apply

When I started in business one of my first jobs involved traveling the South, from Texas to Georgia. As most men-in-suits with similar beats soon discovered, the prettiest women in the world inhabited Dallas Airport. Second, of course, was Atlanta’s Hartfield. It was always a pleasure to hang-out in transit lounges, taking in the varying views. I soon instructed our travel agent to allow two hours between connecting flights.

When my region expanded, I discovered LAX was a good place to mingle. The contrast to Dallas was startling. In Texas women are made-up and well turned out, mildly formal with warm, intoxicating manners. Californians in transit tended toward sportswear, ponytails and a sort of easy but in-your-face exuberance, and exhibited beaming health, a deceit from too much sunshine.

As I climbed the corporate ladder, my responsibilities branched to Europe. There I discovered a new brand of beauty occupying the escalators and moving walks of the transit culture, much more sophisticated than found in America, exotic and tastefully turned-out, like a Milan fashion magazine.

Then, the mother lode. A tour of Scandinavia, including airports in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, the focus of my second European trip. I knew things looked favorable when I boarded the plane in New York. Fellow passengers tended to be tall, blue-eyed and blond. Even older women exhibited a Nordic allure, trim, well groomed, neatly dressed in a way to highlight their feminine features (rather than diminish them, a sad sartorial turn evident in the states). The topper airport experience occurred in Copenhagen, where breathtaking beauty made one’s head spin, from gate to taxi stand.

This is a long way to go to get to the topic of Denmark’s nudist beaches, but there is a good reason. The best nudist beaches are in Denmark, best because they reliably and assuredly have the most tantalizing naked women in attendance of any nudist beach in the world. I know because within days of arriving, my host took me to Falster Island, where he kept a summer cottage. It was as if all of those beautiful women I saw in the Copenhagen airport decided to skip work and go to this nude beach.

This leads me to my general theorem that the typical airport population of any big city offers a preview of what you’ll find on their local nudist beaches. To check the validity of this theorem, go to the Cleveland airport, then visit Mile Beach. You’ll see what I mean.

But nudism is a misnomer in Denmark. It’s more efficient to name the non-nudist beaches, not more than a handful. In constrast to LAX, the ubiquitous blonds you see in Denmark are no laughing matter–blond jokes don’t apply.
